NOCTURNAL
AND IN THE WAKING HOURS I LIE
  HELD PRISONER BY EVERY-THING AND
  EVERY-ONE
CHAINED TO THE NOTION OF SANITY AND
LEASHED TO THE IDEAS OF PURPOSE

AND AFTER THOSE WHO FIND PEACE IN SLEEP
RELEASE THEIR GRIP FROM MY NECK
  THE ABSTRACTION OF THE NIGHT
  BECOMES MY WORLD

IN THE SILENCE OF THE STARS I AM FREE
IN THE ABSENCE OF THE LIGHT I AM FREE
AND ALONE IN MY OWN THOUGHTS AND FEARS—
  I AM FREE

BUT WITH THE WAKING OF THE SUN
  I REATTATCH MY RESTRAINTS
  TO CONCEAL THE ABERRATION THAT
  IS MY EXISTANCE
  -
AND I DREAD THE WAY I MUST CONFORM
ANTICIAPTING THE RELEASE THAT IS NIGHTFALL ONCE MORE
