Woe was a little girl's embrace,
light quickly slipping,
water droplets stream down her chocolate face

What sheltered her?
a house, not a home
with four lonely walls of utter dolor

Her father's obtuse image taunted,
a voice coarse like a train's engine echoed
as his words replayed and haunted

"Worthless, ugly, sl*t,
you are nothing
you stinking smut"

Water poured from her glassy eyes
She hid her face from his ugly lies
trying to escape the bitter hatred,
sorrow filled the tortured kid

In her father,
she saw no light; no good, no hope
Fury enveloped his putrid conscience
as he strangled the girl by her throat

She choked and coughed and choked some more
until he released her onto the floor
a waterfall of tears continued to pour

She watched him stomp over to her mom,
praying he would just leave her alone
Her mother cried God's name for help
as the father strangled her neck with his belt

The little girl was stunned,
unable to move

She heard one last whimper
Petrified, she began to whisper

"I love you, Mommy. Please do stay.
I need you here, don't leave me today."

He stomped and screamed,
slamming the wooden door,
leaving the girl aching more
no light remained within her doors
