Starry Eyed
I would never die for you
Because you see
I've been wishing
For death to kiss my lips
Ever since
I was ten years old
when I was fourteen
Death brushed against my cheek
and I had never known something
could be so sweet
but then I met you
and suddenly..
death wishes
went out the window
now the small kid with big eyes
had never looked so bright
...then you ran away
and with you went my light
but I never pleaded with you to stay
Because who would blame you anyway
I was a burning star
And she was the whole galaxy
But somewhere along the way
You remembered how beautifully the stars shined
So you came back
and bottled the cosmos
Just to put them into my eyes
Once more
so now you knew
I would always be there
to light up the night sky
For you
But oh god
if you only knew...
this star
is still burning
solely
Because of you.

This poem is for my boyfriend. He and I have been through so much shit and he's left me and left me and came back and came back but he finally got it together and things are okay for us. And he started as just my friend and he fought off my depression and I'm better now and it really is because he was there to help me.
