You left but you are still here
You held my memories,
my secrets.
You took them with you
as they buried you in the
dark chocolate brown soil.
I cried with the drips
that hoped that you
would come back to me,
but I knew that it would
be impossible for you
to rise from the casket.
Why did you leave without
a simple goodbye,
or a simple hug?
You always told me from
when I was a kid to the
day you passed that you
will never leave my side.
With those words I
now know you’d
watch over me
no matter if you're here
or away.
