Dark side of Alcoholism
Is there any point in dwelling
over the injustices,
of the guilt and pain of the past?
If you can find courage by finally asking
“why did you do it?”
No one
would admit
why they had been deserted
But for many years they never understood
their
drinking
had been made out of humanitarian concern.
Sometimes explanations come when the drinking stops
But that’s not to say it’s all over,
and staying sober
is a matter of life and death for the alcoholic,
Accept your parent’s
even if you have to put up with
sensitivity and consideration
on any alcoholics priorities.
Adjust your expectations,
They cope with stress and discomfort in different ways
and without resorting to the bottle
it may seem like your world is hanging on by a thread
But,
a mistake,
should not
be confronted
with compliments.
The subject is touchy
however
it is your
responsibility
to empty the bottles
at dinner
one night.
