earthy bitterness brews
in the French press
between worry and anxiety.
Fresh coffee grounds infuse
with fresh ideas.
It may be a new day,
pending hours still untouched.
But these steaming swigs of espresso
taste like yesterday's stress,
Add three scoops of sugar.
