Marked Skin
Scars are marks on the skin left by pain
The side effects of life
The tortures of reality
You can't wipe away the past
Tears and fears
Everyday a new hurt
People cause pain
They hurt with no compassion
They hurt with no emotion
Their words wound
Their thoughts out of mouths into tears
Shed by the hurt their voices cried
They cry for help, for a friend
They need our help
Their skin has been marked
Harsh names and labels
Not toleration, but acceptance and guidance
Fight the markers, the ones that caused the pain.
Support the marked, the ones that felt the tears.
Heal marked skin
Avoid the hurt
Help those that were wounded by the words
Equalize the high man and the low
Make the low feel strong
Hold them high
Don't push anyone down
Clean wounds before they scar
Avoid the marks that stain the skin
Leave it beautiful, untouched, unmarked skin
