I Am Me
I've hated this,
The feeling of being twisted upside down,
Like an apple falling from
a tree that called out to me,
"change."
That's all i've ever heard my
entire life.
I've been told to be different,
But I already am.
Very different,
From everybody.
Now tell me how I can never be normal,
Give me all the reasons why you
of all people can tell me
who I am and who I should be.
You will find that you can't
because I am
who I am,
And I will always be me.
I am the one single bird who
flies from the flock.
I am that one single rock you
didn't throw.
I am the rest of the juice
you decided not to drink,
And I am everything you
decided to leave behind.
But that
does not define me.
Now tell me, who are you?
