Life is a candle,

A flickering flame

Lit into existence,

Free and untame.

Living freely

burning down trees

setting things ablaze

by only a breeze.

So much depends upon

This one little wick,

Burning fiercely

‘Cause it can die quick.

This candle’s aflame, now

But not for long

It can all go away

if it doesn’t belong.

Sometimes it’s slow

Sometimes it’s quick

but it will burn out

before it can grow.

Life can be taken

in one small breath

or it can prosper

long before death.

Cherish life

Cherish happiness

For it can be gone

In eternal darkness

Forever. . .
