Post -
Traumatic
Stress
Disorder
I was diagnosed with it
A few years back
It was the fireworks –
They brought me back -
To hell
Bang! Bang!
I looked up
My staff sergeant looked at me,
“Get off your ass private!” he yelled
Then they starting shooting
I stared at him
I watched him die
And I just stared at him
And then I was back on the river
With my family
I cried
Nothing has been the same since then,
Nor will it ever be
