Gone With The Wind
Her pink plaid frock wavered up and down
Neatly combed hair flew back and forth.
Snatching her paper-puppet, the merciless wind
Trodded across the meadow.
The little girl, hand outstretched,
Chimed and reached for the unseen hand clutching her toy.
“Pinocchio!”, she cried as she stumbled over
And fell.
Did the atrocious wind chuckle
Even as the puppet spiraled still up,
Forever beyond her reach?
