We are books
Some people pick us up
Others put us down
We are someones favorite book
They laugh with us, about us, because of us
They cry with us, about us, because of us
We have been edited and revised by many
To take the bad parts out
We are books
Some refuse to read us
Even if we'd be
Their favorite book
Some just reread their books
over and over
Always skipping one key page
Until one day, they don't
It's no longer their favorite book
We are books
Paperbacks
Sometimes we are bent
But we bounce back
Sometimes we are bent
But we are bent forever
