That sense of accomplishment
After you ace that test.
But the inevitable question is…
What’s next?
You’ve been striving to make the grade
Since the minute you were born
But there isn’t a study plan
For after the coat of success has been worn.
Do you read a book?
Or maybe paint what you feel?
If only there was a class
On what is and isn’t real.
Because that’s the real question here, right?
What truly makes you tick?
Is it merely the thrill of making the grade,
Or is the grade merely a distraction,
an occupation, a trick?
