guardian angel
to the 3.5 billion other people
you're probably just a man
you walk the same
drive the same
talk the same
but to me, you are not
to the 3.5 billion other people
I was probably just a teenage girl
I walk the same
text the same
hear the same, yet
somehow you saw something in me
something different
from everyone else
that I couldn't place
but I still tried to suppress
and yet
you pushed me into the world of questions answers conversations,
opinions hopes and remarks
the world of shouts in hallways
the world of "hey!" and "did you..."
the world of "you will be presenting"
to anyone else passing by
they'd see a girl standing before
a gray desk, where in that desk
sat a man who walks the same
drives the same
talks the same
and whoever passed might wonder
what the girl was doing in the room
they might judge her
or find the man a predator
for talking to the girl so often
but little would they know
that this man was her guardian angel
and though he didn't know it
and neither did the passers by
this man saved this girl
