The Civilization of Savagery
Stumbling and falling
Lying on the dusty floor
We hurried from the darkness crawling
Yelling and screaming for something more
But now where are we?
Wallowing in baths of hate
Firing guns for the promise of liberty
Is this humanity’s only fate?
The reality of the problem
The harsh realization
That we can no longer solve them
Is this species’ worst creation
We’re the only race
So filled with irrational fears
That the only representation of humanity’s face
Is that of violence over the years
The sanctity of life has been disrupted
We kill to achieve the ideal
Our civilization has been corrupted
But is perfection even real?
There is something fundamentally wrong
If in our mind’s eye
We must kill to live long
And live long to die
Humans have become demons through evolution
We are the monsters of our dreams
And in our quest for absolution
We’ve begun to tear apart at the seams
We have no inclination of what we’re doing
No thought for what we’ve made
It’s our society’s ideals which we’re skewing
And in the end it’s our own principles that we’ve betrayed
We have created a depression
In the equality of all
Our greatest weapon: oppression
Will be our downfall
