Forests of Guilt
The cool water on my toes
green is all around me
this my own world
a guilt free world
This is my runaway place
where the stress of the world is not allowed
the guilt built up over the years is washed away
by the stream that trickles over my toes
Guilt for accidentally killing the mouse
Guilt for not studying harder
Guilt for breaking everything I touch
Guilt for not apologizing when I should have
This place relaxes me
it releases the grip of guilt around my throat
so I sit down on a fallen down moist tree
hoping that nothing will tear me out of here.
