I learned…
To keep my drag loose,
my knots tight,
my hooks sharp,
and my bait fresh.
I learned…
To cast hard,
use the right line,
not get snagged,
use the right lures,
and keep my thumb on the spool.
I learned…
To know the limit,
net the big ones,
know the right measurements,
where the fish are,
keep the keepers alive as long as possible,
and what conditions they like.
I learned to fish.
