  Eighth Grade
More homework
More classwork
More projects
More presentations
More stress
Is eighth grade happening for real?

Eighth Grade
More electives
More studying
More tests
More pressure
Is eighth grade just a bad dream?

Eighth Grade
More friends
More opportunities
More awareness
More media
Can this be true?

One more chance
To show--
That I’m not new anymore
I know what the heck I’m doing
I know when to tell people to shut up
It is time to rise like the waves
And be capable
Of overcoming studies
And start a new world
In school
Life is not just about studies and getting a job, you know
Learn to do what you're anxious, boiling heart says
Learn to not be your parents stooge
Learn to be independant

You are not that child holding a teddy bear anymore
You are not that child afraid of the dark anymore
You are not that young child crying a pool of tears for small things
You are growing up
When you are 18, you can go to Africa and play the drums if you want instead of fishing
            for a job

You can stay in Antarctica for three days if you want
You can choose to do fifty jumping jacks in Hawaii if you want
Growing up is not as much as a big deal as you think
Don’t underestimate the power you have in your life
Don’t be an abate soul
Intensify yourself
