Teen Violence
When my cousin got shot, it was a tragedy
Second time it took his life and was sad to see
Bullet like a torpedo shot with majesty
He was only 15 so it was a mistake, it had to be
I sat and thought for days, how could this be?
One day somebody could be here and the next day “sleep”?
I knew I had to be hallucinating
Could’ve sworn my heart grew legs the way it started racing
Back and forth across the floor as I started pacing
I knew it had to be a bad dream
The devil playing tricks or one of his tricky schemes
But it was all real
Nobody can relate to the pain that I feel
Moral of the story is I’m tough and put an end to teen violence because enough is enough

When my cousin died one thing that helped me through it is the poems I wrote. I release anger and stress by writing.
