where i come is the hot summers

and the cold winters
where i come from is the family
on the holidays
where i come from is the long days in the sun
with screming sunburns
where i come from is hunting
from the time i could hold a gun
where i come from is the big bbqs
and and huge bon fires after
where i come from is always having
dirt under my feet
where i come from is working on a farm
most of my life
where i come from is family being together

  
     Trails
the day starts off as cold as freezer
as we make are way further and further from town
the trails seem to go for a lifetime
the trails are where i grew up
it's the best feeling being free on the trails
being all alone 20 miles from town
    a hunt to remember

it was a bluebird morning the waves were rocking the boat
it already had been a long day setting up decoys all morning
i was alone and it was the first time i've been by myself duck hunting
ive done it a million times with people just never alone
as im sitting there i hear a goose and start calling to it
as it was coming in it started to ver off so i called at it a little more
and it hooked right back to me as it was landing right in front of me
i took one shot as i have over and over before
as i got to my goose it was just floating still as could be
i grabbed it and took it back to the boat
thats when i realized it had a band on its leg
i was so i happy that i packed up early so i could show my dad
when i called him when i was driving home he didnt belive me
when i got home he was so proud of me

     reflection 
i've learned that i have developed more writing skills from freshman year. It is easier to write poems such as free verse. I feel my writing has improved from the beginning of the year i have i feel i have improved a very good amount in writing poems. I struggled with writing poems for a while but now it seems like it's getting easy. My favorite poem is the literary poem i feel like it was the easiest for me to write. In my literary poem ive shorten up most of the lines such as “where i come from is the hot summers and cold winters of michigan” but instead i put “where i come is the hot summers and the cold winters”. also instead of saying where i come from is the long days in the sun and having sunburn i said having screaming sunburn to add some adjectives.
