Gymnastics
Flipping, tumbling, learning new skills
Trying new things, and feeling the thrills
Learning a routine, performing it for a crowd,
Getting a high score, feeling proud.
Letting the satisfaction wash over you
Look how far you came, how much you can do.
Long, brown, wooden, tall
Hard to stick skills in leaps and bounds
Dancing a routine, crafted on your own
Remembering everything, letting it flow.
Being nervous, then feeling ok
Make sure to blow them all away!
Doing a kip, cast your body high,
Back-hip-circle, squat-on, another kip to the sky
Cast, baby giant, flyaway, stick,
Congratulations, you remembered all the tricks!!
Sprint down the runway, flying high
Jump off the springboard, time goes by
Front handspring, round-off-half, land on the mat,
Then off to your next event, no time to chat!

This poem is about gymnastics. It is also about the events a girl competes, and a little about them. It is also about getting better, and working hard to learn things, or make old things better.
