The Future of Man
There will be a day,
When all men live in peace.
Man gets along with their fellow man,
All are respected, and live without fear.
No more war, or arms races, or stand offs.
Society will triumph over humanity’s destructive nature.
Or
Not a day will go by without slaughter.
The military powers of the earth will have annihilated each other,
Leaving the world in ashes.
Any who survive will fight for their lives,
If it isn’t themselves committing the murder and crimes
Of the once civilized world.
Instead
There may be a day when science and technology peak,
And man will then live as near gods.
Man will live hundreds of years,
And solve hundreds of our present’s problems.
Not a single man goes hungry or diseased,
and the standard of living will greatly surpass ours.
Efficiency will maximize, and industry will become limitless.
Or
Instead technology will be developed for one thing only:
To kill.
Man’s destructive nature will only grow larger,
And a new way will always be discovered,
to kill, or destroy, or to torture.
Murder and mayhem will have no end,
And humanity faces a dark, uncertain future.
There will be a day when all men live like kings,
Or
There will be a day when man is no more.
