The Forgotten Hour
"This is the day 1951,"
The voice of an impersonator recites.
The time to leave has long passed,
But the student sits in class for another hour.
Laughter filling the room instead of lecture.
This is the story that no one tells.
The school hour that is forgotten due to the others that consume it.
It's the good that overcomes the bad,
At least for the hour before the vicious cycle begins again.
Music is shared as songs harmonize.
A teacher joking with her students.
The forgotten times of a survivor's story.
