GRIEF.

is losing one of your best friends.
Losing your mornings before school,
eating Mickey Mouse shaped pancakes.
GRIEF.
is no longer having those Sunday’s in church,
where the little old lady sits next to you, singing a little off key,
but sings proudly anyway.
GRIEF.
is losing your grandmother who was your supporter,
your friend.
That is,
GRIEF.
JOY.
is camping with your family.
JOY.
is long nights, marshmallows,
and great friends.
JOY.
is finally seeing your family,
that you have waited all year long to see.
JOY.
is being on the court,
ready to play,
ready for the game.
That is,
JOY.
ANGER.
is not listening,
and breaking your leg because of it
and later,
breaking your arm because of carelessness.
ANGER.
is losing loved ones,
who you cared so much for.
That is,
ANGER.
ANXIOUSNESS.
is waiting…
on the arrival of a new family member.
ANXIOUSNESS.
is waiting…
to see if one of your
closest friends
gets to come back from the Air Force.
ANXIOUSNESS.
is waiting…
on the news of a loved one,
who is in the hospital to see if they are
okay.
That is,
ANXIOUSNESS.
