Take a Walk
When you walk
into a room,
you expect to hear,
the loud noises from little children.
When you walk
into a hallway,
when it’s empty
you still hear noises.
When you sit
in an empty hallway,
you hear the loudness
of the air vent,
rattling.
You hear the cooks
talking about their lives,
and what their doing this weekend.
You hear the pans
banging
as there getting put away.
When you think
of a hallway,
you think lockers.
But go past the lockers
You see empty
food cans
you see trash cans
You see the janitors
doing their jobs.
When you walk
into a hallway
you expect to smell clean floors
and fresh food
What you smell,
is overpowering chemicals,
that punch you in the face
when you walk through the door.
When you walk
in a hallway there's
much
more
noise.
