The Darkness
Do my darkest days really bring forth light?
People have been telling me this,
Constantly reminding me,
That there’s always a light at the end of the tunnel.
Whether it is true or not,
That is still unknown.
Patches of light can be found,
Creeping,
In the darkness,
But the darkness always continues.
It is terrible
It is painstaking
It is endless.
People tend to associate light with good.
What if I said this wasn’t true?
What if light is just the darkness’ bait?
Its’ Lure.
What is uses to keep you going,
Only to drop you farther inside.
I’ve experienced this first hand.
The evil of Light.
Though,
Sometimes,
It just has to leave,
Before it gets pulled in with you.
Nothing is what it seems anymore.
Once you’re in,
There is no “out”.
Only occasional relief,
From the horrors inside the darkness,
If you ever find yourself here,
Stuck,
Forever trapped,
In the endless tunnel,
Come find me.
We’ll help each other make it through.
I’ve never lost hope,
Only taken breaks from looking.
There is a light,
No matter who or what tells you otherwise.
It may not be easy to find,
But it’s there.
Waiting.
In the Darkness.
