Once we close our eyes.
we all go to a place
into our minds that never want to, nor over will escape
when we lay our heads to rest tonight.

A place where we can be
Anything our wild and childlike thoughts will let us.
Place where the sweet and innocent come to life.

Some place where it feels like eternity
But only a mere 6 to 7 seconds
going there to escape the chaos of the day before.

This place isn’t always kind.
Once when we were young we feared it.
Sometimes we still do.
It wakes you in the middle of the night.
Frightened and fearing the evil in the nightmare you just had.

As we become older.
We realise the same villains in our childish dreams,
Were just a vision of a scary movie.
Some dreams will be bitter sweet,
But they will always remind me of what things could be.
But will never be…
