The whistle blows
As the first half starts
The pressure begins

All that's in my head is "win, win, win"
That's the only option there is
There's no going home with a loss

As i run up and down the field
I feel the sun in my face
Making me feel as if i were being burned alive

Finally an opportunity to score
It's a corner kick we all get ready
As our corner kick taker says go we charge into the box

I jumped higher than I've ever jumped
And yelled mine as I saw the ball coming to me
The last thing i saw was the ball as I headed it in

As i'm on the ground yelling in pain
I hear the parents on the sideline yelling "GOAL"!!!
When it all calms down they wonder why i'm on the ground in pain

The goalkeeper confessed it was him
He was full of anger
When he struck me with a powerful punch

When i landed on my back
It made the agony even worst
It was like a sword was shoved into my back

My head was focused on one question
Why did he punch me
That's something i might never find out

But even though soccer is competitive
The most important part about it
Is to be able to play with your friends
