Unfamiliar faces
In a too familiar world-
Each yesterday replaces
And tomorrow is unfurled.
Clouds across a silent sky-
The memories run like sand,
Separate people, separate lives-
Find forever, hand in hand.
Words that run like water
I've memorized each line-
I need more than you can offer,
So give back to me what's mine.
You can't mend a heart that's broken
With "I'm sorry" or with tears-
But with tender words unspoken
Heard by souls and not by ears.
