The Path I Take
The path I take in life is a bumpy one with twists and turns
between school and life and family
assignments the pressure the stress
and the adventures, accomplishments, and achievements
there are hard paths, easy paths, and the always changing paths
The path I take paves the way
helps out my siblings, helps out me
paves the way for friends
paves the way for my future
and continues growing as I go on
The path I take makes my life
it is the old road of the past left behind me
it is the current road I walk along now
it is the forest ahead of the unknown future
the winding road of life
The path I take has scenery of the new and old
the friends here and the ones gone
the family with you and the family moved away
the toys I loved, the books I've read
the places gone, the places to go
The path I take is just for me
only my decisions make it
it only affects me
I am the only one who walks it
because there is only one me
The path I take has challenges, adventures, and excitement
the vacations across the world
the school work that keeps me up late
the challenges I take to overcome
because the path I take is for me, paved by me, and lived by me.

I wrote this piece origionally as a school assignment, but I kept working with it and others told me it was good. So I decided to try sending it out into the world and see what would happen. I also think that is a good opportunity for me because I don't usually let others see my work.
