Arrested Minds
Motionless, silent, steadfast
Eyes seized by the vivid, vivacious
Cloak of light flashing flurries of gradients
Bouncing back and forth like a bouncy ball
Eager to conquer the heights of the world.
Connecting home to home, and realm to realm;
Webs of intertwined macrocosms flashing on
The tiny, magnificent, unconquerable surface,
Making people geniuses in the snap of a finger.
How can such metal and plastic have such
Tranquilizing, manipulating powers?
Seizing the extents of imagination, circling
High beyond understanding and
Spitting out intelligence, inhibiting
The powers of the human mind
Arrested minds, stuck in the compact
Universe of the screen; captivating
Humans for hours on end, like being
Hit by a sudden, yet everlasting shock,
An incurable disease every human is subject to.
Arrested imagination, halted by the omniscient
Screen, just waiting to be handed the answer,
Like a plate of dinner, waiting , waiting, waiting
With no initiative of continuance; progressing
Innovation of the world, yet deterring the
continual progression in life.
