outsider
The part of yourself taht is painfully eager to please
wants a hug
and never gets enough
From birth there is a yearning
an eagerness
To be loved
to be accepted
to become like one of the others
You change almost everything about yourself
the nost genuine parts of your personality
yet you are still an outsider
Slowly you accept who you are
and you start to wonder why you cared about what that girl said you needed to change
or what that boy didn't like about you
A new person starts to emerge
slowly
like a caterpillar branching out from its cocoon
And soon
the opinions of others will not matter
And number two will become number one
