Introduction To Poetry
“I ask them to take a poem
And hold it up to the light
Like a color slide.”
Something like that says
“You want to know what
A poem looks like.”
A poem is like a person’s
Imagination
Of what it says to you.
A poem has
a feeling
For someone to hear and
Be like “That feeling is
Inside my heart.”
“Beating it with a hose
To find out what it really means.”
They think it’s nothing, but it is.
A poem means it’s not something
To read,
it’s something to
know what’s saying.
To hear a poem, it
Would say
“Press your ear against the hive.”
When you did it,
Did the hive say
something?
No, it would say
“Read me and understand what
It says. Or, you will have no life.”
A poem is life
Is there a life without
A poem?. No.
You
Need a feeling to become a person of life.
