The Mother Cord
Nobody compares to mom,
strong and willing,
can do anything.
From the moment
you’re introduced into the world,
who do you see?
Who do you depend on?
Certainly not just anyone.
Pick the one who gives you unconditional support,
the one
who is always there to listen,
the one
with the open shoulder to cry on.
In the beginning, mom is everything.
Without her, the world would stop.
Suddenly, there comes a rebellious time,
a time we want them gone,
to abruptly disappear.
We forget all they do,
we become selfish.
All of a sudden caught up in junk,
insignificant events with no value,
wasted parts of life.
Eventually, this treacherous feeling goes away.
We die for our mothers nurture back,
we long for the never ending kisses.
Get this back before it’s too late,
and never let it go.
As for me,
I have now reached this bittersweet stage.
I will pull the cord and take you back towards me.
