Mental Lock
I’m bound by these shackles… covered in dirt and rust.
Broken, misused …there is no trust.
This cage surrounds me, keeping myself from being free.
What have I done wrong? Why can’t I just be me?
I try and try, with all my might.
To break these chains, to stay in the fight.
But they kick and scar, all their words dance from afar.
Feels like I’m stuck, can’t escape this war.
They battle all night, trying to say who is right.
But I’m still trapped in this pit, there ain’t no getting out of it.
My mind is a mess, putting me to the ultimate test.
Aching and shaking…just make it go away…
I’m tired of fighting this, every single day.
Seems like there is no way out of it…
You wanna drop everything and quit.
But that isn’t me, no that I don’t see fit.
I’m a fighter, a warrior inside.
This sickness doesn’t decide when I die.
