Battle scarred card
There once was a card
In the winter it rented
Lots of books to be read
Used by the bard
For reading he loved
And used it a ton
Other tools he used
but none quite so much
As the battle scarred card
Its corner was chipped
And a crack in the middle
From where it once fell
The colors have faded
And the words have smeared
But its purpose is clear
Torn and mangled
from years of hard use
There is no replacing, the battle scarred card
