What You Should Know
You thought I didn't know
You had a thing for me
But you kept staring,
And I'm not that naive
You're everywhere
And I felt obligated
To give you a chance
But just once, never again
You don't know this
But I'm volatile and reckless
And someone you don't want to know
Trust me, I'm emotionless
You see, I built up walls
Because of the thirty something
Who promised me everything
But only took pieces of me
And honestly, now I'm scared
To get close to you,
To trust someone again
So I pretend
Sometimes, I feel myself falling,
But I pick myself up fast
Because no matter what you say,
I refuse to lose myself again
And no matter how many people
Tell me it's time to move on
I still can't find it in myself
To be who I was
Not for you,
Not for anyone
