The locket whose chain
So knotted and broken
Once so shiny and
Perfectly sat on my chest
That won't ever be fixed
I will never wear it again.

The cheetah print
Rubber bouncy ball
Now all dried up and hard
Doesn't bounce much anymore
The prize I picked from the
Treasure box for sitting well
Will only bounce in the clutter.

The magic 8 ball
Who quietly holds all
My secrets and insecurities
From years ago
When I whispered questions to him
But now vacantly sits like a vault.

The tupperware container
Full of colorful plastic beads
Holds an unimaginable amount
Of possible combinations
A rainbow of creations
Held together by cheap stretchy string
Wont be explored anymore.

It all sits in the bottom drawer of my dresser
The memories I hold closely
Afraid to let go.
