Chalk
I had the biggest smile on my face
I used to love drawing with chalk
With my favorite cousin
That was my life
I had no worries
other than what to draw next
This time was precious
And didn’t last forever
I would give anything
to just go back for a minute
To a time when i was carefree
The colors on my cheeks,
they reflected me
They reflected the happiness
the excitement
and love
Though the colors have faded
Those feelings of happiness, excitement, and love
Will always be there
Chalk will always be able to take me back
To that moment
When i was a little kid
With chalk on my cheeks
And no doubt in my mind
About how life would surely be okay.
