Alone
As I hang this one clam branch I have peace.
I came from the twisted roots,
I am small but I am growing
vast and tough everyday as
I watch people pass. I have seen
people come and go but all I know
is I don’t want to be alone anymore.
I have friends but they hang higher
than I, up in the light. It gets quiet again
when they grow and fall.
As I hang upon this one lone branch awaiting my time,
the time I will fall and start over again
from my seeds. I am developing just like you awaiting and
hoping for that one moment to be a part of the world.
Instead of living in the shadows I will be found in the light.
