Royal Oak
I’m from Royal Oak
from downtown and southside,
I’m from my house, I place where I sleep, eat, live.
I am from the soccer field
long days of running, dribbling, shooting.
I am from my family
where i’m most comfortable.
The hustle and bustle,
from the family dinners,
from the arguments.
I’m from my backyard,
the playhouse with a broken door.
The trampoline where we jump, the wood pile full of bugs.
I’m from Royal Oak
