A worn and weary fellow walked into my bar.
Eyes gazing away so, so, far.
I walked up and asked "whatcha wanna drink?"
He said "my friend do you ever just sit back and think,
Life is long and dreary
It leaves you tired and weary
I don’t know why or how we are here
Or how your life can end up quite queer
I’m not sure why it is that I am supposed to go on."
I looked at him for a for what felt like a day
Final I opened my mouth to say.
"Lad, the point in life is to make a point in life
I get up every day
And seem quite gay
Because I do what I do to take care of my little girl
Even when life throws  me for a whirl.
I’ve made my point to be love and prosperity
But that not every ones point
Some people strive to leave a legacy
Not through family but through history
My lad your point may be quite a mystery."
The young man looked like he was beginning to worry
"Bar keep I hear what you say
But if I may
I’d like to make an inquiry
I’d like to learn more of your philosophy
How can I learn more of my fate
Learn what to write on my slate?"
I brought him a drink and said
"Think when you lay down your weary head
What is it you dream of?"
He replied with, "A home quite warm"
"One tough enough to weather a storm.
And where people seek me for council
And there work do be done still."
I smiled and laughed "Then you want to be respected and productive.
Helpful and with wisdom that is quite elusive."
He smiled that sounds right
"Id be proud alright
That’s what I will do
Sir, truly, thank you.."

Later that night
I knew I had done right
After I tucked my daughter in bed
And kissed her on the fore head.
I found my point in life
Through great mental  strife.
The young lad found his point in life so
I think you can too
