Colors
I wish I could blend in.
change my colors to match my surroundings.
Maybe I will fit in, if I blend in.
Maybe I will have more.
Maybe they'll like me more.
If only my colors matched my surroundings.
My skin would be as dull as a used pencil.
But I could be as bright as neon store lights.
I could be any color,
Red,
Blue,
Yellow.
I could sparkle,
shimmer,
glitter,
and shine.
I could match my personality and be bright.
Or I could be as plain as khaki.
Only if I blend in.
I fit in.
I can have more if I match my surroundings.
I can be more if I don't.
If I could be myself,
I would have many colors.

This poem is about how I struggled to fit in amoungst my friends in school. That I was questioned everyday why I never tried to look normal.
