He passes through the halls as if they were empty
Never once touching an elbow or a backpack
He looks up to see every student parted, moving away from him
He simply turns his music up louder

With the hall split in two, and headphones in his ears, he can still hear them
Whispers, names, rumors, tales of false happenings
They all talk about him, but nobody talks to him
And the stories grow

They grow like a lion, fierce and dangerous
Everyday they claw at him once more
Biting at his emotions, and playing with his mind
But he does not fight back

He blames himself for being different
For not having the coolest clothes
Or the most expensive stuff
And somehow, he shifts all of the weight onto his own shoulders

He is at his breaking point, getting fed up with it all
He has thoughts of ending everything
Wondering if that would be easier
And if they would soon forget about him

He goes to school one day, his own personal hell,
With a razor in his bag, recently sharpened
His plan was simple and would send a clear message
He would slit his wrists in the bathroom, and bleed out on the floor

But when he walked through the doors, and started towards the bathrooms
Someone stopped him
A girl, a beautiful girl
Stopped him, and apologized

He stopped, vision a blur, head in a daze
The silence between them was filled with confusion
She was popular, she was liked, she was noticed
Why was she stopping and talking to him now?

Her eyes were a fiery blue, her hair was straight and perfect
She was the definition of beauty and happiness
Yet she was standing here, smiling as if it was nothing
Silently waiting for him to speak

He sat there, mind racing but not able to think of a response
Forgetting entirely about the razor or his plan
He was lost in her innocent stare
And thus he was released from his prison, his hell

The unseen had become the noticed
The hated became the loved
And the boy that considered taking his own life
Now lived his to the fullest

All he needed was a friend….
