Latch
My deceased grandmother
Once spoke to me in a dream
Of an old friend named Life
Life constantly yelled, "Ha-ha! Can't catch me"
While my grandmother wept for her to
Slow down

This poem is named, "Latch," because we often live day to day believing we are guaranteed a tomorrow. To give, 'latch' a deeper meaning is to live to tell stories, share that pie you made, tell that boy he's cute, or to take in that night sky. I like to think that this poem speaks for itself. My grandmother always spoke of life going by so swiftly, so this is my way of letting her know that I listened to her and won't let any day pass me by.
