October 21st
You were made of crystal
And I, of glass
Both so fragile
That the wind blew us apart
And we broke
So far apart were the pieces
That we were never really whole again
Were we?
Now I'm tracing the blue veins that show through your skin
Telling you how valuable this life really is
You don't seem to believe
And I don't understand
You say you don't want to be here
But if not here, where?
Where could you possibly go,
And what if I can't find you there?
There's a cool autumn breeze
And I'm trying to tell you all the reasons why you should stay
You tell me it's your time
But I don't know what that means.
Aren't you scared to go on your own?
You tell me it's your journey
That you have to do it alone
But what could you possibly do without me?
Where could you go?
It's raining now
The kind of rain that makes you think something sad sad should have happened
But what happened wasn't sad
Not really
It was beautiful and tragic
I understand now,
Why you had to go on your own
My own hope is that you are where you want to be now.
You were made of crystal
And I, of glass
Both so fragile
That the wind blew us apart
And we broke
So far apart were the pieces
That we were never really whole again
Were we?

I have a best friend and she understands me and things I go through. We support eachother and help eachother deal with things that could be even scarier alone. I wrote this with her in mind because I can't imagine what it might be like to lose her.
