One More Step

One more step, and I will fall,
I’ll wait until they push me.
One more feather, and I can fly,
I’ll wait until they shoot me.

If, in fact, I had a choice,
I’d still let them decide.
They will see what they have done,
But not until I’ve died.

Welcome to my lonely life,
Please, enjoy your stay.
I cannot join for long, you see.
I must be on my way.

One more step, and I will fall,
I’ll wait until they push me.
One more feather, and I can fly,
I’ll wait until they shoot me.

Go away, I’m dying,
You’re welcome no more.
Please, I beg, I’m bleeding,
From my heart I have been torn.

If you mean what you say,
Then you should have no shame.
But I know now, that’s just a lie,
And I am merely a game.

Who are you? I don’t know this part.
Your soul is dark and your demise is sure.
I can’t look at you when you’re in this state,
I can’t love you anymore.

One more step, I cannot wait,
It’s a choice I have to make.
No more stalling, no more delay,
I do not wish to ache...

For this, I know, is up to me,
and one more step I’ll take...

This is not about me, I just find it incredibly easy to step into the lives of other people. It's hard for me to explain, really, but I'll try. It's basically about a young teen who fell in love,-- or what they thought was love-- snapped out of it and, eventually, their thoughts led them off the edge of darkness. (No, they didn't take their lives, they became severely depressed.) I know it's a tad bit dark, but this is it.
