I’m from visiting Zebras and Lions at the zoo,
they’re my favorite..

From blonde hair in pigtails
I’m from hiding behind my mom's leg in 4k,
because I was shy..
From being called Kiki by my niece and family

I’m from family funday Sundays..
From falling on my bike and getting a hole in my leg,
then  needing to get internal stitches..
I’m from spraining my ankle on the slide on the playset
From playing school in the basement with my sister

I’m from waking up at six A.M. and avoiding eating breakfast
From going on hikes at Lapham Peak with my boyfriend,
and receiving a kiss from him when we reached the top..
I’m from babysitting Monday threw Friday
From “everything happens for a reason’’
From “Always think positive”

my mom says..

I’m from eight hour days at school
from 50 degree winters and humid, 90 degree summers..
Wisconsin is where I spent my seventeen years,
It’s where I’m from but will never be who I am
