The Girl Who Passed Through
A girl with tears in her eyes once stood here.
She passed through on her bare feet.
And yet, she stopped to look here,
Her eyes watched distantly.
Tears broke the dam and streamed on down,
and dribbled off her chin,
she stared into the glorious sun,
and hoped the end to come
This was where she stood once, alone,
She stood until she broke,
But no matter how she cried and cried,
the sky still danced with mirth
She wondered to the hea’vns above,
which cruel god made a world?
In which a child could cry and cry,
the sun would still be bright
There was once a girl here, broken, torn,
who learnt something of value,
you may live your life in tired morn,
or scorn the sky that scorns you,
A girl passed by here with tears in eyes,
She saw a glimpse of heaven,
The sky will never care for you,
But beyond is something more.
The girl who stood here, all alone,
With wind within her hair,
Was loved and cherished,
More and more,
She was not unseen,
her problems not unnoticed,
She was watched by the laughing sun,
ready when darkness came again.
