It is departure time
I can’t stay any longer
I don’t want to be a burden on you
I can’t stand the pain I am in,
I just can’t.

Loving wife Hannah I do not want to wake up every morning and depend on you.
I don’t want to hold you back because Hannah, your mother is sick and also needs you.
Don’t sit in front of me and watch me die
And don’t you say I’m not dying.
Because I am.
Mental, emotionally and physically

To my daughter, you are young.
You have your whole life ahead of you
Go out and have fun.

To my son, be strong.
Look out for you mother and sister
They will need your support

To my grandchildren, don’t forget about all the good times we had
Baking cookies, playing the guitar and singing.
Continue. And be there for each other.

So as I lay down
Say my last I love you and goodbye
Close my eyes
Take my last breath
Know that we will meet again

Don’t cry
Don’t worry
Be happy, be proud
Know that I, Jimmy Price, fought a great fight
Know that I am in a better place
I don’t have any more pain
I am happy, I have united with my mother and father
And soon - with you
When it is your departure time.

I wrote this poem to help me get over the lost of my grandfather. I lost him to cancer.
